Half guard basics
Half guard basics by Sam Tweeds. To maintain a solid half guard, focus on using strong frames with your arms and knees to manage distance and control pressure. Keep your bottom leg actively trapping your opponent's leg to limit their movement, while battling for the underhook to gain leverage and avoid being flattened. Position your head close to your opponent's body to reduce their control, and continuously look for sweeps or transitions to improve your position.
